This Privacy Policy explains how TalkMate, published by Amedya, collects, uses, and shares information when you use the TalkMate mobile app, website, and related support channels.
1. What TalkMate is
TalkMate is a mobile application for AI-powered text chat and live voice conversations with virtual personas. The app is available for iPhone and Android and uses third-party infrastructure to deliver responses, analytics, subscriptions, and limited cloud-backed feedback features.
2. Information we collect
Information stored locally on your device
- Chat history saved in the app.
- Favorites, streaks, theme choice, notification scheduling state, and rating prompt state.
- Custom personas that you create inside the app.
- A locally generated guest user identifier used for ratings and feedback features.
Information processed through app services
- Text prompts and conversation content you send to receive AI responses.
- Voice audio captured during live talk sessions, which is streamed for speech processing and response generation.
- Persona ratings, review comments, and low-rating app feedback you choose to submit.
- Analytics events such as screen views, chat starts, voice-call starts, paywall interactions, purchase events, and ratings activity when analytics is enabled.
- Subscription status and product information needed to provide premium access.
3. How we use information
- To deliver text and voice conversations with AI personas.
- To keep your local app experience consistent across sessions on the same device.
- To understand product usage and improve features, stability, and conversion flows.
- To store persona ratings and app feedback you explicitly submit.
- To manage subscriptions and premium access.
- To answer support, privacy, and deletion requests.
4. Third-party services and processors
TalkMate currently relies on the following categories of service providers:
- Google Firebase for analytics, remote configuration, and Firestore-backed ratings and app feedback.
- Cloudflare to host and run the worker API that proxies AI requests.
- Google Gemini for AI-generated text and live voice responses.
- Adapty for subscription and paywall management on supported native builds.
- Apple App Store and Google Play for in-app review prompts, billing, and subscription processing.
5. Data retention
- Local app data remains on your device until you remove it, uninstall the app, or use the in-app delete-all-data action.
- Persona ratings and app feedback submitted to Firestore remain in our database until deleted for operational, moderation, or legal reasons.
- We do not intentionally keep a long-term first-party database of your full chat history, but conversation content is processed through infrastructure and AI providers to generate responses.
6. Your choices
- You can delete local app data from the profile settings inside the app.
- You can decline optional permissions such as microphone access or local notifications, but some features will not work without them.
- You can cancel subscriptions through the Apple App Store or Google Play account used for purchase.
- You can request deletion of server-side ratings or app feedback by contacting us at amedya@amedya.com.
7. Children’s privacy
TalkMate is not directed to children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the app, contact us and we will review the request.
8. Security
We use commercially reasonable technical and organizational measures to reduce unauthorized access, alteration, or misuse of data. No internet or storage system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
9. International processing
Your information may be processed in countries other than your own because the services used to operate TalkMate may run globally.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as the app, infrastructure, or legal requirements change. The version posted at this URL is the current version for store listing and in-app policy references.
